A Conversation with Chef Gary King

Chef Gary King has been heading the PRINT kitchen for several months now. We sat down with him to find out more about our executive chef.

Q: What made you want to be a chef? Was it a childhood dream or did you come to it after other jobs?

A: I’ve always been around cooking and food one way or another, it just came natural to me. This has been my only career.

Q: What inspires you most when it comes to food?

A: Traveling. It always helps the creative juices flow.

Q: What is your favorite thing to cook for yourself on days when you don’t have to work?

A: Nothing, usually too tired. I just cook things for my kids.

Q: What do you like to do to unwind after a crazy Saturday night or busy Sunday brunch?

A: Drink and eat a late night bowl of ramen.

Q: Who is your favorite purveyor?

A: I spread the love to everyone!

Q: What is the most unusual ingredient you’ve worked with?

A: Brains.

Q: What’s special about working in the PRINT kitchen?

A: Working with farmers.

Q: Ideal food vacation spot?

A: Southeast Asia.
