Forager Feature: Ecosalon

In this cold winter season, it can be challenging to eat local foods. At PRINT. we know that delicious winter flavors can be found in unexpected places. Our forager Meghan Boledovich recently sat down with Ecosalon to discuss tips for eating local and healthy during the winter.

There are a lot of other items ​available locally that are produced through the winter other ​than vegetables​, ​which can ​become mundane in the dead of winter​. For instance, ​​try grains, dairy, micro greens, dried ​chillies, legumes, etc.


Another way to eat local is to source your food from a variety of locations or vendors.


“Source from various locations, go to a farmers market to find niche speciality items (seafood, speciality produce, breads, cheeses, etc)​. ​Join a food co-op or find a grocery store with local bulk items that you can stock up on (grains, beans, etc)​.
